early morning sunbeams penetrate the clouds to illuminate a spire called "aguja de la silla" (needle of the seat) thrusts up from a bench on the back (west) side of "el chaltén", aka "fitz roy", at 49 degrees south, on the argentina side in "parque nacional glacier". this view is from the flank of cerro madsen where the aguja is visible at the bottom of the notch between el chaltén and poincenot.
